We made this game during Bogazici Game Jam 23, in 48 hours.
Theme: Just in the nick of time
Task: The objective is to defeat Pac-Man before it consumes all the dots on the game board.
The player's goal is to strategically control the characters in the game to catch and beat-up Pac-Man.
NeRF
We believe that in the near future we're gonna see a shift in game development. Scanned objects and environments will blend together in game worlds creating mixed media aesthetics which will have a strong marketability potential.
To explore this vision, we wanted to try a new tool that we have seen in recent weeks. It is an app called Luma.ai, which enables users to scan any object with a phone camera. The app uses ai to smooth photogrammetry processes. We scanned our bodies and added into the game as players which you can switch between.
The Theme
The theme was ‘ucu ucuna’, translated meaning close to ‘just in the nick of time’. Since we were gonna use a mixed media world we did not want to get too complicated, so we used a Pac-man game universe which everybody is familiar with.
Pac-Man has some moments of tension and excitement when you narrowly avoid being caught by a ghost or when you strategically time your use of power pellets. These moments can evoke a sense of "just in the nick of time".
We tweaked the mechanics and turned it into a sort of time based beat-em-up game.

Download the RealMe.zip file -> Unzip -> run RealMe.exe
